The big thing being talked about right now is the Connecticut school shooting. This is truly a a sad tragedy. While it may be "too soon" to be talking about the change in the law about guns, it has to be done. There have been one too many incidents like this one. President Obama really showed that he cares about what has happened today, and it should make us feel safer because he has the power to change things. He has promised to take actions to prevent things like this, and hopefully he comes through with it. However, it's sad to think that even if laws get passed, some people will still do things like this, illegally.
No parent wants to send their children to school, thinking that they are safe when they're really not. Yes there have been many other tragic things that have happened; but when you think about elementary school kids being killed, you have no choice but to feel some sort of sad emotion. These children had their whole lives ahead of them. They could have been/done something big for this country. But now we'll never know. I just hope that the President will do as he promised.
